Marvel Legends Miles Morales Evolution

After my recent Captain America post, I thought it might be fun to do “evolution articles.” The main purpose would be to let all of you good people know where to find parts that may spruce up your displays.

I figured I’d start with Miles Spider-Man because no character in recent years has pulled off such a 180 in my eyes. I didn’t dislike him. I just stopped reading Ultimate Spider-Man before Peter died. No particular reason. I was just buying the trades and for some reason, I stopped. So my knowledge of Miles was second hand, and then what I saw in Hickman’s Secret Wars and Secret Empire.

Wow, Marvel sure likes its “secrets.” So do I. Right now I am not wearing pants, in a naughty way, as I write this. That’s a secret. A gift, I give to you, my reader.

Then something happened that made me fall in love with Miles (not as much as Pete, but, you know): Into the Spiderverse happened. I loved the character, and I loved the look. I had the Miles from the Space Venom wave (what a dumb name… “Space venom.” “Hey guys, I have a great idea. Venom is cool, right? What if… wait for it… we put him in SPACE!” *room stands up and slow claps*) and that was going to be all the Miles I felt I needed. When I saw the Miles/Gwen two-pack, it was a pass for me. I already had both figures.

This was all before I saw Spiderverse (seriously, as a life long Spider-man fan, watch this movie. It is the best Spider-Man movie I’ve ever seen). I immediately picked up the two-pack and decided to use it as a Morales Spiderverse base. Here are the results:

So, what did I use? The first thing I ordered were some custom Jordans from my boy @juicetinscustoms. They look amazing. The downside? You lose your ankle pivot, and it makes him significantly taller. But man do they look amazing.

Secondly, I missed out on the preorder from CJESIM for his clothes which bummed me out (but I did buy my belt for him there). Fortunately, I’ve been doing this for long enough to not put all of my eggs in one basket. In this case, I went to VC toys.

I feel like if you’re a Miles Morales fan, it’s a good time to be alive. I am hoping we get a Spiderverse head sculpt soon. Here’s how he looks now next to other Spiderverse characters.
