I wasn’t able to get the Hellfire club box set. Maybe one day I will, maybe I won’t.
Regardless, even if I snagged one, she’s a bad guy in that context. I still need an Emma Frost for my good guys (she’s complicated). Sure, I have the dominatrix styled Emma Frost from Walgreen’s, but that’s not the look I know her as sporting.
The only other Emma Frost I owned was this abomination:
At one point, I took the Walgreen’s head and put it on the above body. Yikes.
I saw someone did a custom Emma Frost, and it appeared to be the White Rabbit and Dazzler bodies meshed together. However, they used the White Rabbit torso. They had cut out or pried out, the pocket watch that cuts across her body, leaving a noticeable chunk of her abdomen missing.
I knew my OCD wouldn’t let me display that. Then I started walking myself mentally through the process of getting the putty into place, letting it cure, sanding it down, paint matching, gloss/matte coat, etc etc etc and had all but talked myself out of it.
However, by that point, I had already ordered the two figures to do the operation. I’m impulsive AF.
Instead, I figured I already had the figures. Couldn’t send them back, so why not try something different? With a lot of hot water and patience, my final recipe was as follows:
- Walgreen’s Emma Frost headsculpt
- Gross Emma Frost Marvel Legend cape (but I am sure any white cape from eBay would work)
- Dazzler arms, lower torso
- White Rabbit legs and upper torso
My biggest regret of the project was not paying attention to just how messed up the face was on that head sculpt when I bought her. Other than that, she works great as a placeholder until/if I ever get a real one.
