Marvel Legends Mystique Review

Marvel Legends Mystique

The Marvel Legends Mystique figure is a Walgreen’s exclusive. They have been hitting it out of the park lately with their exclusives. This figure is no exception. She is also the sexiest smurf I’ve ever owned.

What’s in the Marvel Legends Mystique box?

We get the Marvel Legends Mystique figure, we get two guns and two additional headsculpts. One of the headsculpts is of the one-time Shi’ar leader, and Professor X’s main squeeze for a while. The other is mid-transformation for a Mystique/Rogue (is she still her daughter?) pairing that looks great as well.

What doesn’t work with the Marvel Legends Mystique?

I hate these single color weapons that Hasbro puts in with their figures. More so because EVERY gun looks like it’s some futuristic, weird thing that belongs in a Star Wars package. I’m annoyed that I have to go to the aftermarket to buy guns for figures that should have realistic looking guns. I ended up giving her some knives I had in my spare parts tub. For some reason, I see her using knives for stealth takedowns as opposed to going in, guns blazing.

The Rogue head sculpt was a pain in Mystique’s neck to get it on. By that I mean, it kept moving with such ferocity that I was convinced I was going to snap it off.

My Marvel Legends Mystique figure felt like the ankle rockers were frozen. You may notice that in the pictures. I was afraid I was going to break her. I finally forced it, and it went. Had I snapped it off, I would have been upset with myself for being too lazy to go upstairs and get hot water. Additionally, like all Marvel Legends females, she lacks a double jointed elbow and it makes me sad.

Finally, I feel like that Lilandra Neramani headsculpt is kind of a waste. It’s beautiful but looks out of place on Mystiques body.

What works with the Marvel Legends Mystique figure?

The details on the costume are classic Mystique. The skin color nails it and that headsculpt is a thing of beauty. She looks so nice I put her on a more visible shelf in my basement as opposed to the “mutant” shelf.

Should you pick up the Marvel Legends Mystique figure?

Yes. Maybe you’ll get lucky and grab her on sale for $13 bucks. Yet, even at full retail, she’s worth it if you like the character. As I mentioned, she’s a Walgreen’s exclusive, but if you don’t have a Walgreen’s near you, you can pick her up here:
