I worked hard at coming up with a cool tagline from the character’s dialogue in the movie, but “Have you seen this boy?” doesn’t sell it like it should. Regardless, few movies captivated me as a kid in the early 90’s as T2 did. Therefore, when I was in Toys R Us recently and saw this NECA T1000 Motorcycle Cop sitting on the shelf, all alone, the last of his kind, I had to have him. Fortunately, my girlfriend took pity on me and picked him up as a Father’s Day present. Upon returning home, I immediately opened him up and threw him in The New Guys which should either be out by the time you read this or coming out soon.
First impressions of the NECA T1000 Motorcycle Cop
What can I say? The NECA T1000 Motorcycle Cop is a great figure. He isn’t the deluxe version. I didn’t get the extra head with the big hole where the eye should be. Nor did I get the chest riddled with bullet holes. Yet he absolutely serves his purpose on my shelf. He does have the extra head that is split down the middle as well as a head with no helmet, two hands with long pointer fingers and one sword hand.
“One sword hand.” That’s a pretty cool way to end a sentence. He also came with two guns and a tiny picture of John Connor.
His head can look left and right but doesn’t go up or down at all. The ankle joints are little help in getting him to stand up. He has single jointed knees and elbows. In short, he has all the articulation you would expect from a 7-inch NECA. However, at the end of the day, none of that negative stuff matters to me. Why? Because he is just so cool looking. 1:10 is not my chosen scale. In fact, I constantly go back and forth on selling off my DC Collectibles 1:10 figures. They occupy too much real estate. NECA has a niche market and what they do, they do really well.
Should you purchase the NECA T1000 Motorcycle Cop?
If you’re a fan of the series or just that movie, I can’t think of a single reason not to pick him up. Looks like you can still grab him at Amazon by clicking here but it does look like his price is going up.
What did you think of him? Or the current state of the Terminator franchise?
