It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I feel like I owe you guys an explanation into my Obsessive Compulsive mind.
I use action figure photography, and pretty much everything on this site, as part of my reward system. I don’t reward myself when there is work to be done. I just can’t. I wish I could, but I can’t.
Some back story: a few months ago, I noticed that the lights in my displays were getting harder and harder to work with. I kept telling myself “Get them plugged into the UPS, because they can’t take too many more power hits.”
Well, if you know me, you know what happened next. I procrastinated, and a storm took them out. OCD doesn’t allow me to have non-working displays for long, so I decided I was redoing them.
I am not an electrician and I’ve never worked with LED lights before. Couple that with me being in the nightmare part of my job (August until January, and yes, a job that is already taking years off of my life under normal circumstances has a “worse” period), and it leaves me with precious little time to get them back up and running. I am making (slow) progress. I now have to teach myself how to wire an RGB amplifier, so that will not be frustrating, I am sure.
The good news is, it’s almost my birthday, and I am pretty sure my girlfriend is getting me a another 6 foot tall, 31 inch wide IKEA Billy. I want to get glass doors for that and the one she bought me last year. However, that will also add time on to my project list where I can’t get into the photo booth. Besides, right now I couldn’t get into it anyway. All of the figures I had to take down are all in totes and blocking most of the back basement area where I do my work.
This is a shame because I wrote up an Old Ben Figuarts review a couple months ago when he hit the streets but still no pics.
I did get the framing in for the lights in the Detolfs and the displays under them. I guess that’s it for now, I wanted you guys to know I am still around, but working a lot. Here are some “In-Progress” pics of the displays.
I hope to get back to normal posting soon, I have some cool stuff to show you guys!
