Marvel Legends 80th Stealth Iron Man Review

Marvel Legends 80th Stealth Iron Man

I AM IRON MAN. Or I may as well be… I feel like I own enough Iron Men to get honorary membership or something. The Marvel Legends 80th Stealth Iron Man is another release in celebration of Marvel’s 80 years in existence. There are plenty of Iron Men figures out there, but none like this. Probably because it’s for one specific storyline where he was fighting cybernetic ninjas. Here’s a little bit about this armor, which is just another form of his standard invincible armor. How about we jump right in?

What comes in the Marvel Legends 80th Stealth Iron Man box?

We get the figure itself, which is pretty spiffy. I love the red and gold, but I also like armors that break up that monotony on my shelf.

We get THREE sets of hands. There are fist hands.

We get open repulsor hands.

Finally, we get a set of hands I’ve not seen in a Marvel Legends Iron Man figure before… a set of holding hands for his energy sword (its a lightsaber. I don’t care what it actually is… vmmmmm vmmmmvmmmm) which is also included.

A few more detailed pictures for my loyal readership:

What doesn’t work with the Marvel Legends 80th Stealth Iron Man figure?

As you probably know by now, I judge domestics less harshly than I do imports that cost 3x as much. That being said, the only thing that annoyed me is something I’ve seen in Hasbro Iron Men figures before. The repulsor hand could have so much more function for posing if it had a joint in it that just went up and down. As is, you cannot move the blaster hand on the peg. Maybe something will change in the future?

What works with the Marvel Legends 80th Stealth Iron Man figure?

This is an attractive figure. In my mind, the light blue parts glow a little, which makes it even cooler. This armor set (along with its natural red and gold version) actually makes sense being this thin, as the nanites just coat Tony’s skin as needed.

I wish that Hasbro put as much thought into all of their figures like they do the 80th Anniversary versions. Of course, we’d end up paying $30 a figure so maybe not.

As it is, this figure drew me to it without any of the ancillary comics I usually require to get excited about a figure/character/design aesthetics. That is worth noting.

Should you purchase the Marvel Legends 80th Stealth Iron Man figure?

If you have the disposable income, yes, pick this guy up. In an ocean of Iron Man figures, this guy stands out from the rest. If you’re burned out on Tony and all of his vanity projects, this is probably an easy skip for you. I’m glad I picked him up.
