Star Wars The Black Series General Veers Review

Star Wars The Black Series General Veers

The Star Wars The Black Series General Veers is the first release for Maximilian Veers, as portrayed by Julian Glover in The Empire Strikes Back. Leading the assault on Echo 1 Base on Hoth, Veer’s AT-AT assault crushed the Rebel shield generator.

I had no idea his character was so flushed out in the EU. If you enjoyed the movie or the character, check out his story. This is just my opinion, but I think he may be the most successful, on-screen Imperial leader we’ve seen just south of Thrawn on Rebels (or in Zahn’s books).

The Star Wars The Black Series General Veers is a Walgreen’s Exclusive. I’ve not seen him in stores, but my girlfriend picked me up one for Christmas (along with a lot of other figures). He’s one of those figures that I am pleasantly surprised by the amount of accessories he comes with in box.

What did he come with? I’m happy you asked, big poppa.

What is in the Star Wars The Black Series General Veers box?

Much like other Black Series figures I have reviewed, the Star Wars The Black Series General Veers comes with an impressive amount of pack-ins for a domestic, mass released figure.

We get the figure itself, with an outstanding facial printing. We get his officer cap, which is removable, a set of At-At pilot armor (helmet and chest piece), and a pistol. This allows for a lot of flexibility in your displays and photographs. Take a look.

What doesn’t work with the Star Wars The Black Series General Veers?

I am not sure how much I can complain about a figure I never thought I’d see, with this many accessories, but I’m going to try. Never let anyone tell you I’m a quitter.

The single jointed elbows are disappointing. As is the lack of leg articulation. I think his officer cap would be easy to lose if you’re not careful.

That was a pretty short list. I’m sorry.

What works with the Star Wars The Black Series General Veers?

As I mentioned earlier, the face sculpt/print job on the Star Wars The Black Series General Veers is pretty much dead on. The helmet/cap/chest piece is easy to swap out and doesn’t seem to rub the paint too much.

His weapon fits nicely in both his hand and holster.

Besides the normal Imperial Officer uniform we’ve seen on Tarkin and Piett, we get a really well deco’d duck egg blue paint scheme on the AT-AT armor. It’s pleasant to look at and a welcome color splash to my Imperial display palate.

Should you pick up the Star Wars The Black Series General Veers?

What do you have to lose? If you’re an action figure collector that collects 1:12 Star Wars lines, this figure belongs on your shelf. Obviously, being a Walgreen’s Exclusive, check your local Walgreen’s for him if you have them in your area. If not, you can find him here:
